The Adventure of Super Mario Bros. 3 Episode 23 - True Colors Overview

Episode 23 of "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3" called True Colors aired on November 24th, 1990 in the US on NBC. The episode starts off with Kooky and Cheatsy trying to wake up King Koopa so that he can carry out his midnight attack. However he fails to wake up so Kooky decides that he and Cheatsy will have to carry out the plan in King Koopas place. They release Paragoombas and Parabeetles to attack the people of Mushroom Kingdom. Mario and Luigi equipped with raccoon powers emerge and with the help of the mushroom people, scare the Paragoombas and Parabeetles back to the doomship.

Bowser is angry with Kooky and Cheatsy for going ahead with the plan without him. Kooky says he has a plan to divide and conquer the mushrooms but Bowser says to tell him in the morning since he is sleepy. In the morning, the koopalings begin to carry out the plan by spraying red and blue paint called Koopa Color Goopa on the mushroom people including Mario and Luigi. Everyone is now either red or blue but this is only one part of the plan. Kooky and Cheatsy, disguised as blue and red mushroom people, stir up trouble among the mushroom people. The red colored mushroom people rebel against the blue colored mushroom people and vice versa.

Princess Toadstool tries to reason with them but it doesn't help because the Mushroom Kingdom is now divided. The koopalings help arrange a rumble between the mushroom people in the morning. Mario and Luigi, who seem to be fighting amongst themselves as well, sneaks inside Castle Koopa to figure out what is going on. They soon learn what is really happening and make up with each other. Mario and Luigi then comes up with a plan to reunite the mushroom people.
