The Adventure of Super Mario Bros. 3 Episode 10 - Tag Team Trouble Overview
Tag Team Trouble is the tenth episode of "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3". It aired on October 6th, 1990 in the US on NBC. The episode begins with Toad on his way to deliver one million gold coins to the Mushroom Orphanage. Bowser and Cheatsy are nearby discussing a plan that will have them making easy money. Toad then picks up the large sack and runs away after overhearing this.
Toad who is tired from his trip, finally reaches the Mushroom Orphanage and rings the doorbell. When the Mushroom nanny and kids answer the door, they find that Toad had fallen asleep. They take the money and thank him. Toad soon awakens to discover that the money is gone and quickly assumes that Bowser took it. He feels responsible for it and decides he has to make the money back.
He catches sight of a flier which awarded one million gold coins for winning the Mushroom Wrestling Federation's Tag Team Wrestling Tournament and decides to get his cousins The Mushroom Marauder and Jake "The Crusher" Fungi to help. When Cheatsy sees that they are enrolling for the tournament, he waits until the next day to sneak into Mushroom Castle where Toad's cousins are and makes them fall asleep for two days. Toad soon finds out that his cousins won't wake up and panics.
He eventually tells Mario about the situation he has gotten into and Mario and Luigi decide to wrestle in the tournament as they think they have a good chance of winning. However, Bowser and Cheasty has rigged the match and they are pulling all sorts of tricks to help the Sledge Bros. beat Mario and Luigi in the wrestling match.
