The Adventure of Super Mario Bros. 3 Episode 5 - Princess Toadstool for President Overview

Princess Toadstool for President, which is the fifth episode of "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3", aired on September 22nd, 1990 in the US on NBC. This episode begins with a paragoomba attack. Bowser and Cheatsy have came up with a plan to have the Grand Paragoombas eat all of the food in Mushroom Kingdom so that Princess Toadstool would be forced into handing over the throne to King Bowser for his food.

Mario and Luigi quickly deal with the situation and Princess Toadstool confronts Bowser. She tells him that if he wants to rule her kingdom that he should go about it the right way. She then goes on to tell him about an upcoming election for the next ruler of the kingdom and says that he should run for it along with her and let the people decide.

Mario and Luigi, not thinking he will actually run, are surprised when Bowser accepts and decides to run in the election. However, Bowser knows that nobody will vote for him and whines about it. Kooky then sprays Bowser with a spray he created called "Nice Guy Potion" since he is aware that Bowser wouldn't know how to act nice even if he wanted to.

With this, Bowser starts acting nice to the people of Mushroom Kingdom with the help of the potion. Mario and Toad sees these turn of events and begins to worry that the people may actually vote for him. After time passes, the potion begins to wear off, which Kooky is aware of, so Bowser instructs Kooky and Cheatsy to get some more. Mario and Luigi sees this and heads after them to put a stop to their deceptive plan to win the election.
