The Adventure of Super Mario Bros. 3 Episode 20 - Life's Ruff Overview

The twentieth episode of "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3" called Life's Ruff aired on November 10th, 1990 in the US on NBC. In this episode, which Mario, Princess Toadstool, Toad, and Bowser do not appear in, Luigi walks in on a bossy King Windbag. He is throwing things at his servants and ordering them around. Luigi explains to him that Princess Toadstool wanted him to come by because of complaints of him being a bully. King Windbag gets upset upon hearing this and makes a statement about his servants being better off as dogs. One of his servants mumble that they might as well be dogs the way he treats them.

Hip and Hop Koopa, who have been sent by King Koopa to follow and make trouble for Luigi, overhear this and comes up with an idea. Hip and Hop manage to take King Windbag's wand and transforms Luigi and King Windbag into dogs. Then the Koopas start running while King Windbag and Luigi chase behind them to get the wand back. The chase leads Luigi and King Windbag to the real world in Miami, Florida. They catch sight of Hip and Hop and continue their chase.

They eventually arrive at a hotel and since dogs aren't allowed, they sneak in through a side window where they spot Hip and Hop throwing food. Luigi and King Windbag run after them again only to get caught by a dog catcher called Herman. Hip and Hop make off in a convertible to cause more trouble. Now, Luigi and King Windbag have to come up with a way to escape the Florida State Poochitentiary and catch Hip and Hop and retrieve the wand back to return them to their former selves. It doesn't help having a bully as a partner though.
